SLCeeds Events

PROGRAM: The SLCeeds program represents the intersection of education, innovation and entrepreneurship. Through experiential learning and the development of their own ‘start-up’ students will be introduced to creative and logical reasoning skills, technology and web development, basic financial modeling and accounting processes, branding and marketing strategies, and investment and fundraising strategies. After an intense week of workshops, lectures and a speaker’s series, the students have the opportunity to present their new found companies at FinalPitch.

OPEN TRACK (FALL & SPRING SEMESTERS): Past events: Discussion panels with employers-entrepreneurs/Employer site visits/Speakers.

Skills workshops series provides students with practical "how to" knowledge, examples include:

  • Website Design Basics (HTML, Dreamweaver, WordPress, Java)
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Final Cut Pro
  • WordPress Blogging
  • Create Compelling Infographics
  • Secrets to Going Viral on Social Media

5-DAY INTENSIVE & FINALPITCH: Select students take part in a five-day intensive that focuses on idea generation, validation, and testing. The program also includes a field trip to New York City's rising startups. Students will present their ventures during the SLCeeds FinalPitch competition.
A $1,000 grant will be awarded to the winning team to further develop their idea.

The SLCeeds 5-DAY INTENSIVE is a credit optional program with certificate of completion awarded at its conclusion.
